Default Best Wesern European Countries for Wrestling???

We all discuss the Eastern Europeans, Iranians, and Cubans as monsters in wrestling, particularly the russians. I am spending some time to figure out what makes the russians what they are; in the meanwhile I was wondering what the general consensus is on what western european countries are the best at freestyle wrestling and greco roman wrestling.

I have very litle idea which of those countries excel and Im quite curious to know what the board consensus is. How good are they relatively, in comparison to American wrestlers (who I think are sold a bit short)

Western European countries suck in wrestling period. They can't commit themselves enough to this sport.

Yet they are strong in Judo, which can be equally demanding IMO.

They are strong in judo because Eastern Europeans are not that interested in it.

    AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Eastern Europe is not interested in JUDO???
My friend the ratio of interest in Judo or Wrestling in eastern europe is almost the same, I even think eastern europeans do more judo than western europeans.

Even though western europeans are better in Judo than eastern europeans both women and men.

I think the strongest judo teams in western part are from Germany, The Netherlands, some Spain, etc. havent followed it alot lately..

You're an idiot sometimes. Russia and the other republics have a fairly strong Judo tradition. Maybe the program isn't as developed as wrestling but to say they are not that interested in it is silly.

I suppose you're talking about freestyle in which case Germany has a decent program. In Greco Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Germany, and Hungary (last two are central I guess) are all consistantly good.

As far a Eastern Europe not bring interested in Judo Russia and Georgia have great programs and Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Turkey all have decent ones as well.

Like I said freestyle and Greco clubs outnumbered judo clubs 3-4 to 1 in Russia.

Germany is only decent because it unified with Eastern Germany. Besides half of their team is Russian or Georgian.

I just love the American thinkers on here. People, take a look at who is wrestling for many Western countries. They are Russians, Iranians, Ukrainians, Georgians and so on.
