I am pretty sure he has the gold medal which would make him the Olympic Champion. Something Big only dreams about. Maybe you should make the Mexican Olympic team so you can tkae your shor Big. Plenty of Russians wrestling for other countries.

I hate saying this ....but I agree with Big......Slay wins on a technicality
I wish I could kick Matt Dragon in the balls. In his Dragonballz.

I hate for you for agreeing with Big, too.
Slay played by the rules and won the gold. Sure there was luck, but that usually is needed for the gold.

Maybe we could review Angle v. Jadiddi as well

The point Big is making is that with Leipold testing positive for steroids it wipes him from the records, making so that he didn't even exist for that competition. Thus Moon never actually wrestled Leipold and was given a Silver medal by virtue of being in the other bracket even though he had never even wrestled Slay. Both wrestlers had lost to Leipold who was technically never there albeit at different times in the tourney. So why does Slay have Gold and Moon Silver? BTW Saitiev has nothing to do with this argument.

So this goes back to the whole thing about Slay advising the gymnast Hamm what do to about his Gold medal by virtue of scoring discrepancy. If Slay truly thought Hamm should have given his medal to the Korean, then Slay should have had a wrestle off with his Korean opponent to determine who the rightful Gold medalist was. Remember, if Leipold didn't exist like the records state then Moon would have been in the finals against Slay and the real Gold medalist would have been determined in Sydney.

But obviously that would never happen because Slay is a complete hypocrite and an embarrassment to himself and his religion.

If Slay didn't tout his Gold as if he earned it the same way Gable did, I wouldn't say anything. But the man claims Jesus was his Savior at Olympics. Well, in that case Jesus has a funny way of awarding people Gold medals.

Saitiev has nothing to do with it. You have to beat them all at Olympics.

And yes, I think Slay should have extended an invitation to the Korean at any place to wrestle for the Gold. That would be godly!

I agree with some of your points, but the final answer is that Slay played by the rules, and was awarded the medal. He defeated every legal wrestler put in front of him. If we are going to harp on technicalities, lets go back and review every match thrown by Eastern Europeans in all of the Olympics and World Championships down through the ages. This was a common occurrence under the old vertical pairing and black mark system. I don't see you calling for all of those medals to be re-wrestled. If you want to point things out lets do it for everybody, not just Americans. I agree that the Soviet Union produced great wreetlers, the best of their time, but a lot of their medals were also won by some shady back room bribery. Anybody who does not believe this is either naive or fooling themselves. I would have no problem with Slay wrestling the Korean for the medal but that was not the system in place. Their is an awful lot of hypocrisy on this forum. I have no problem with anyone being proud of their heritage but use it to promote your wrestlers, don't try to tear down others. I believe that you do live in this country after all, and with that being said, forgive me if my assumption of residence is wrong.

Did Slay really say Hamm should give back his gold medal? That's ridiculous and hypocritical.
