  1. #1

    Default Saitievs at Krasnodar tourney

84 kg. 1. Albert Saritov, 2. Adam Saitiev
Saitiev is said to have withdrawn.
The same happened at the tournament in Yerevan in late Oct, Saitiev had to wrestle Saritov in the final. He withdrew.

    74 kg. 1. Abdulkhakim Shapiev, 2. B. Saitiev
    No info available.
Shapiev is the guy who beat BS at the Ziolkowski tournament in Poland, Aug 2006.

I thought back in 2006 Saitiev withdrew with a bad rib before the match with Shapiev

Not before, but in (or after?) the first period. Shapiev had the lead - 5:0 or so.

I don't know what lead Shapiev had but here is the article that claimed Saitiev won two matches and then withdrew BEFORE starting the 3rd:

И поначалу все складывалось нормально. Сайтиев уверенно выиграл первую схватку. Но во второй получил болезненный удар по ребру, довел ее до победы, но выйти на третью уже не смог.

Saitiev won actually. Saritov didn't show up for the final.

Buvaisa did not show up for the final because he hurt his ribs a little again and before Yarigin tourney did not want to risk further injury.

Yes. What I wrote above was a result of a communication mistake. Adam Saitiev didn't show up for the final vs Saritov in Yerevan. Now, on the contrary, Saritov didn't show up for the final vs Saitiev. They simply exchanged a reverence. It seems to be usual among Chechens. They don't like to wrestle each other. This mental attitude is made visible in the way, in which 2 other Chechens, Botaev and Shahin, wrestled each other at the CSKA Cup last week (video ? in the other thread). Varaev, the federation vice-president who is also Chechen, is joking about Saitiev and Saritov: After that exchange we have to expect a tough match at the Yarygin tournament.

Adam Saitiev had convincing victories in all his matches (e.g. 7:1 vs Vitkovski), whereas Buvaisar Saitiev still seems to have any problems. He won ?only? 2:0 vs Ali Aibazov. Aibazov is a good wrestler but I recall Saitiev teching him a few years ago.

I am impressed how many wrestlers participated in some divisions!
    57 at 66 kg, 49 at 74 kg, 30 at 84 kg.

Wow the lightweight veteran of Azerbaijan Namik Abduallaev seems to have been pinned in the semis.
