| 2008 Olympians Andy Hrovat and Steve Mocco headline the list of No. 1 seeds for the 2009 U.S. Nationals in freestyle wrestling.
The Senior-level portion of the U.S. Nationals event is scheduled for April 9-11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The top seven finishers in each weight class will qualify for the U.S. World Team Trials on May 30-31 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
A qualifying tournament for the U.S. Nationals will be held on Friday, April 10 in the five freestyle weight classes with 20 or more wrestlers entered. The top eight finishers in the qualifying tournament will join the top eight wrestlers in the final day of the U.S. Nationals on Saturday, April 11.
No qualifying tournament will be held at 55 kg/121 lbs. and 120 kg/264.5 lbs. since there are fewer than 20 wrestlers entered in those divisions.
