Well, we aren't going to have to wait long to see if the Kudukhov v. Gomez result from earlier in the summer was a fluke. They're wrestling in Round 1 down on the bottom.
Guidea and the Iranian are both on the bottom as well. Scott has the South Korean in the first round. The winner there will likely see Fedoryshyn in the quarters. Asgarov is in the other top quarter with a pretty clear path to the semi's.

Not really familiar with many of the guys in the top half here. Herbert has the Cuban down in the bottom part. Winner of that match will likely have Sharifov. Aldatov and Sokhiev see each other in round 1. Winner of that match wrestles Urishev next.

Tervel is on top along with Shemarov and Taymazov. He'd see Shemarov in the quarters and Taymazov in the semi's if he gets there. Makhov down on the bottom pretty much by himself.

Picks for today...
60: Kudukhov over Asgarov
84: Urishev over Marsagishvili (Tempted to pick Aldatov to just snap and leg lace EVERYBODY all day, but I don't know if he gets by the Sokhiev Urishev gauntlet in his first two matches.
120: Makhov over Dlagnev (Love Tervel, Makhov just too damn big)

Aldatov gets godzilla stomped by Sokhiev 5-1 in the first period but comes back and wins the next two 3-2 and 2-0 to advance out of one of our brutal round 1 matches today.
Re: 2012 London Olympics: 60/84/120 KG Discussion
Tervel wins his first 5-2/1-0
Great match by Kudukhov and Gomez, Kudukhov wins it 2-2/1-0/1-0. Gomez got a couple of late takedowns to steal the first after an early TD and leg lace by Kudukhov. Kudukhov converted a single with about 10 seconds left in the second. Then Gomez was in super deep with about 10 seconds left in the third, Kudukhov spun and kicked away and as Gomez pursued he got in on and finished the winning TD with about 3 seconds left.

Scott beats the Korean 3-0/2-0. Korean spent the whole two period waiting for the ball draw. Unfortunately for him Scott got the leg and converted the first time, and then in the second when he got the leg he got behind Scott but couldn't break him flat. When he tried Scott hipped over him and exposed him.
The ref in this match might have been the most annoying ref of all time though. Would NOT shut up.
Re: 2012 London Olympics: 60/84/120 KG Discussion
I thought the same thing about the ref. She did a good job with the calls but that voice was brutal. I feel sorry for her husband.
Re: 2012 London Olympics: 60/84/120 KG Discussion
Good morning so far, I wish that Gomez would have won that one, or at least that they would have been in different quarters.

Zarkua the Georgian beats a seemingly disinterested looking Fedoryshyn in two periods. He'll move on to wrestle Scott next.
