    Default Question about falls

I was watching some footage from NBC today and noticed a couple of 5 point throws where the defensive man's shoulders both touched. 5 pts were awarded but not a fall. I was under the impression that in Freestyle your shoulders could not touch the mat simultaneously at any time or it would be called a touch fall. Why isn't this the case after a throw?

I thought any 5 ended the period, but idk much

It does end the period but doesn't a fall end the entire match?

Bett's match had the situation you described. I think the refs just missed the fall, it happened pretty quick.

Similar situation in the world finals last year at 60 kg- Noroozi rolls flat across his back, ref misses the call (or is afraid to call it) and Noroozi comes back to win.

Yeah it was Bett's match that I was talking about, I have seen it before too. So that "should" have been a match ending fall correct? Is that call missed often at the international level?
