Default US Senior Rankings

http://www.themat.com/section.php?se...RankingID=1080

Not too sure about these rankings; they have some wierd ones (ie Mike Zadick is ranked 3rd, Schwab is 4th). Also there is a TON of guys missing. I'm presuming some have retired; anyone know if Cejudo is among them? He is not listed. If the rankings they have now are correct (ie all the athletes not listed are done competing) USA wrestling might have some rough international showings the next few years.

Travis Paulson #1 at 74kg, really? I know Trent has a decent amount of success at 66kg but I haven't heard much of Travis. What tournaments has he won?

He beat Askren at the beginning of last year at Sunkist (I think.. maybe that was two years ago?) to advance to the finals.

Both Paulsons were 3rd at last year's trials. At 74 kg Askren and Lewis seem to be retired, not sure why Schwab isn't top guy at 66.

Our athletes don't seem to be interested in competing internationally anymore. Why? Think about the stars that have retired for reasons not related to health. Sanderson. Askren. Rowlands. There are many more. We need more of these guys competing to even get near to representing the strength of this countries wrestling. Also, we need to figure out how to either integrate collegiate rules with Freestyle rules. Or something. But I don't see us having the success at Worlds that we used to. And that is highly likely to continue.

Wow, there are some drastic changes from the last set of rankings they put out... They seem to have rewarded good performances at NCAAs a lot.

QuickSingle should be #1 at 55.

Seeds announced here.
http://www.themat.com/section.php?se...rticleID=20115

I'm still baffled by some of the seeding, perhaps a more informed person could enlighten me. I though Zadick beat Bunch at last year's Olympic Trials- why isn't he # 1?

How did Schwab and Frayer get the #4 and 6 seeds respectively? I'd predict those two to be the finalists.

And what is mr. Cejudo doing these days? Don't tell me he's retired already. 55 kg looks pretty empty, I think that weight was a tougher tournament at NCAA's then it will be at the sr. Nationals, which is kind of sad.
