Question for Canadian fans
I was at the Pan-am qualifier yesterday, and the Canadian fans were really quite when Garcia was wrestling. Just wondering why they sitting on their hands during the match, and after, when they handed out the medals? He had no vocal support at all. One of the best matches was Gentrys last second take down to beat the Cuban, the crowd went nuts

Re: Question for Canadian fans
That is a good question, as a Canadian I watched them all online even with the terribly choppy feed. Also I am a big fan of Garcia's and Gentry has been wrestling like a stud lately.

itsmyopinion, Does Canada wrestling have it's own message boards? If so where? I'd be interested in seeing them.

Re: Question for Canadian fans
How many Canadian fans were at the qualifier? I know back home we were thrilled with Canada's preformance at the qualifiers.
Canadian fans can be a bit regional as well. Garcia, Gentry, and Bhullar are all from the Burnaby Mountain wrestling club- some Canadians might have a hard time cheering for them, the same way as some Americans might have a hard time cheering for an Iowa guy.

Re: Question for Canadian fans

Re: Question for Canadian fans
Garcia does wrestle on the edge a little bit (face pushing, head slaps, etc) but a lot of guys do and I personally haven't seen him do something that's really over the line. I know he was involved a couple of pretty controversial situations. One year he had a national final with Prickett that kept being protested by both guys; another year he wrestled Ncube at the OTT's and Ncube (anogther guy who likes to wrestle pretty rough) got injured.
Not trying to stir up trouble or anything (I'm a big fan of Garcia's) but it seems like a few of the Burnaby guys get a reputation for being a bit dirty, rough, whatever you want to call it, kind like Iowa in the US. Not sure if that's legitinate or not.
