aliev beat gatsalov because he was lucky to take leg in the 1st and the 3rd period. in the 2nd gatsalov beat him 4:0

varner had good matches vs kolomiets in the 1 round and gazzaev (a good wrestler from ossetia) in the 2nd.

btw, the us-team had a camp in ossetia before the tourney. some friends of mine watched some of the practice matches us-guys vs ossetians. they said metcalf was great (everybody liked him) whereas varner showed nothing and lost his matches.
but at the tourney it was varner who was good, not metcalf.

Hey akzent, I noticed a khabib batirov in the 66kg bracket. Is batirov a common name in Dagestan or is this another batirov brother?

no idea are they related; sure is he isn't brother of mavlet and adam.
