Default World Team expectations for Mens Freestyle Team USA as I see it

    Mens Free
55kg Simmons honestly I have no idea. He can pin anyone but I've never seen him string together 4 in a row so I'll say 1-1
60KG Humph love this guy but brutal weight. By the results he has turned in in other tourneys I expect him to win one (maybe)
66KG Ware If this was Metcalf everyone would be predicting a medal here so the disappointment that we're Hawk-less has sort of caught up to me as well and I haven't really given Teyon a shot. From the sounds of coaches though he does well with Kumar so that said I say he's our unexpected medalist.Bronze
74KG MR. GOT DOUBLES ALLISEEISGOLD Hodge etc. Ultra excited to see Burroughs results and I believe he takes the World by storm and we see him medaling but not quite Gold yet semi loss Bronze Medal 2012 London Champ
84KG Cael Gold or Bust he's gotta freakin bobblehead!
96KG Varner another brutal weight much like 60kg but Varner is a gamer and I say he Silvers
120KG Tervel I'm thinking he gets the Ohio RTC a medal but a little duller than the brightest and he Silvers

I'll eat my hat if Varner medals with a silver. Varner, Small fish in a big pond. I'd literally bet my life on this.

I'd agree with Judowrestler, I don't see how Varner medals. I would love to be wrong and I hope that I am.

I think Americas best gold chance is Sanderson.

It's funny how 84kg went from being so tough to being wide open in such a short time.

Perhaps I'm buying into the hype too much, but now that Tsargush is on my fantasy team I'm just a little nervous about a matchup with Burroughs. We shall see.

I agree with 84 kg, Judo wrestler. From 2000-2008 the Russians alone had Magomedov, Saitiev, Sajidov, Ketoev, Gatsalov, Muradov, Khadartsev (comeback in 2000) wrestling at some point. Look at the medal matches for this Yarygin tournament: http://www.flowrestling.org/video/16...v-2000-Yarygin. Add in Romero, Moon and Mindorashvilli, who were all at least as good as anyone wrestling at 84 today.

Not that 84 kg is weak now- there are 4 world champs at the weight- but Sanderson hasn't wrestled in years and Aldatov, Ganev and Sokhiev all seem kind of flaky.

Finally, I hope that Varner medals just so Judowrestler has to eat his hat

I agree with cael being the best chance for the US, if burroughs handles the nerves i think he has a good chance to medal. I think if 84kg at worlds had all the best guys in the world at it i don't think cael would win, but with the draw thats there i think he wins, and what i mean by that is, if it was amini, mirzaei, goudarzi, lashgari, saritov, urishev, ktsoev, sokhiev, marsagashvili, aldatov, salas etc etc I wouldn't pick cael but with the draw the way it is i'm going with cael or Aldatov depending on aldatovs physical and mental shape, Goudarzi looked bad in poland but beat 2 of the top 6 wrestlers in my eyes to get to the final, and he is a tough guy who won't give in so he could be a shocker, saritov looked good at russian nationals but his style won't mix well with aldatov or cael.

Burroughs runs over the Pylon! World Gold! I believe!
Cael wins gold as well and Tervel gets a medal.

    Varnish is a year away.
