Kurtanidze doesn't seem to be in a good shape. In a dual in the German league, he lost to Mateusz Gucman of Poland (12 place at the 2007 worlds) yesterday.
Gucman won 3:1 periods (the German league rule: best 3 of 5 periods) 1:0 (clinch), 0:1 (clinch), 1:0, 1:0 (clinch) in a match of total 8:36 minutes, in which 3 of the 4 periods went in the overtime in ?clinch?. In the overtime of the 1st period, Kurtanidze took leg in the ?clinch? but lost the hold and couldn't score in the remaining time ? that is why Gucman got a point after 30 seconds.

It includes Heidari's famous win against Kurtanidzeh in 2004 Olympics.
I think he deserved Gold that year.

if arm spins get you to the olympics and a high class wrestler, why not?

Maybe americans should learn the same thing instead of only single leg attacks....

In semi final, Ibragimov had 2 two leg take down. second take down had one point but after watching film, referees changed it to 3. result was 6-0. Heydari had 4 one leg take down but it was not enough. That day they said referees helped Ibragimov. Heydari said, I didnt think to semi final. I was thinking about final. It was my mistake although referees didnt let me to be winner.

Look at the botton of pic. Mamiashvili seems happay. Maybe he knew what will happen to Heydari by referees. Now he is not worry about Gatsalov gold medal.
Beside him Dr. Tavakol has no word. The man who is standing and protest is President of Iran sport organisation on that days. Two people beside him is 1991 world champion Amirreza Khadem which is in parliament now
