I wouldn't have predicted it, but anytime training partners wrestle it's all out the window. Humphrey doesn't have the mental lapses that Bunch seems to have. Bunch has the ability but makes too many mistakes.

I'm glad to see Tervel make the team if it's not Steve. Sigmans style always annoyed me.

How many of these guys(if not all) will await the winner of the WTT tournament to wrestle for a spot on the world team?

I agree regarding Sigman. What is his best win outside of this country? He's very crafty for a heavyweight and knows how to expose some of our best guys weaknesses due to familiarity, but that hasn't worked out for him internationally from what I've seen. He also just doesn't seem to have the physical tools to beat some of the bigger heavyweights whereas Dlagnev and Mocco aren't relatively physically imposing (Mocco is a bulldozer but he's short).

Junior freestyle is finishing up the quarters right now. Big news today looks like its Logan Stieber losing in the quarters at 60 kilos to Cody Brewer 6-2/6-3

Not sure why Jensen left out the other results unless he just wasn't intrigued by them. For the record:

50 kg Nick Roberts OVER Jarred Brooks 3-2, 4-1.

55 kg Jesse Delgado OVER Jack Hathaway 2-1, 1-0.

63 kg Kendrick Maple OVER Sam Sherlock 2-2, 3-1, 2-0.

70 kg Mark Martin, Jr. OVER Zachary Brunson 6-1, 6-0

79 kg Ethen Lofthouse OVER Tyler Wilps 1-0, 2-0.

120 kg Bobby Telford OVER Toby Erickson 1-0, 2-0.
Jacob Schlottke---Gone too soon, and the world is a little less bright because of it. RIP, brother.

One, two, Evans is coming for you...

    Just lazy.

While I'm definitely happy to see Telford win at heavyweight I just found those results more interesting.

I finally have time to watch a few US Open finals, will try to post my thoughts on the bouts of interest to me.

55 kg greco: holy crap Mango! A bodylock throw, a lift-and-slam and and a belly to back suplex, all in the finals! I really hope Mango does well at worlds next year, I don't think he's the best all-round wrestler internationally at the weight but not many guys are better throwers. What's that guy who just won Europeans? Imagine a match between him and Mango.

60 kg freestyle: Great back arch throws by Hump as well, looked like pretty clear points for Humphery. Hate to say it, but Bunch wrestled a pretty dumb match. He's a super-fast leg shooting going up against a known thrower and what does he do, tie up and push? If they are training partners that only makes things worse, as Bunch is well aquainted with the throw.

66 kg freestyle: intriguing matchup but pretty boring bout. Surprised Ware was seeded so low. Scored on a single with a few seconds left to win.

66 kg greco: great scramble between Lester and Garrison at the end of the first, Lester is on his back and drives into Garrison for the 2-2 victory.

72 kg women: lots of action in this one. Ali is losing the second period and, with seconds left, escapes from bottom and ankle picks the former world champ to her back for a fall!

55 kg freestyle: lots of excitement in this one. Haze looks much better and really throws Nickerson around for the first 3 minutes, hitting a back suplex and a massive foot sweep. Nice comeback by Nickerson but too little, too late.

120 kg final: Yes, Mocco punched Dlagnev. Not sure what can be done about it though, since the match- and tournament- are over.
