I haven't really done any wrestling, but I tried it year ago once and i'm curious,

I saw a wrestling match where the wrestlers started on their knees

I recall the time I tried it, I got foot cramp.

If my foot were flat on the ground or toes pointing up, then i'd have been OK.

So, regarding the knees position

Obviously it's impossible in the knees starting position to have the feet flat.

A foot position where i'd have been OK would have been like in running when the sole/palms of your toes are on the mat, like a "get ready" position, in running.

But is that dangerous in wrestling, could it easily lead to a broken toe?
