Kudukhov becomes our first finalist of the day as with a big pin over Moradi. He'd won the first period 2-0 then cradled him up and got the stick in the second.

Gazyumov advances to the semi's to wrestle Krupanyakov.

Sokhiev beats Laliev. He'll wrestle Aldatov in the semi's for the second year in a row.

Gatsalov wins a three period match over Gogshelidze possibly benefiting from some early TD calls in periods 2 and 3 (or from the supposed rule where Gogshelideze isn't allowed to beat the Russians since he's Russian if you believe in that sort of thing).

Huseynov wins the first period 2-0 over Fedoryshyn

Ganev tech's Ktsoev in the first period.

I've got to roll out now, so if someone can take charge for the rest of the semi's and the repechages your work would be appreciated.

Gogchelidze has beaten Gatsalov before, if that matters. How bad were the TD calls? I'll try and do the updates but my internet sucks here at work so it'll be sporadic.

Ganev wins what sounds like a wild one over Ktsoev... now it's being reviewed... Ganev is indeed in the finals, where he'll be the underdog to either Sokiev or Aldatov.

Amiri beats the Cuban, will now wrestle Gatsalov in the semis.

Fedorishin beats Huseynov in 3! He will wrestle Kudukov in the finals, last year Kudukov beat him on a 3rd period clinch in the semis.

Sokhiev vs Aldatov. Sokhiev pushing him around according to the broadcast. I think Sohiev and Gayzumov have won their semis.

    60 kg Iran vs KGZ
period 1: KGZ snap down, scamble, no score. Knee=pick/pancake for Iran, scores 3, nearly gets the fall and wins the period.
period 2: KGZ tries snap down again, no score. Iran with single leg push-out. KGZ with last second body lock, throws for 3 to win the period.
period 3: KGZ tries arm spin, not sucessful. Iran changed direction, drives KGZ out for one. Iran with low single TD, ankle lace turn. Iran kind of falls over at the buzzer, final score 5-1 Iran. Iran wins the first bronze medal.

Anyone know if this is the same Iranian who beat Zadick in the finals a few years ago?

    60 kg Azerbayjan vs Turkey
period 1: Turkey shuck by TD, Aze reverses him from bottom rolling both acreoss their backs, comes out on top, high-gut wrench. Turkey trying to shuck but it's not working. Score 5-2 AZE.
period 2: AZE front headlock, no score. Both guys trying to knock the other off balance. Turkey in deep on a leg, AZE sprawls, switches off to a cradle, scores 2. AZE locks up a leg ride, horses him over, gets the fall! Azerbayjan is the second bronze medallist.

What an awesome pair of matches so far!

60 kg final Fedoryshin Ukraine vs Kudukov Russia.
period 1: Kudukov, front head, can't score and warned for choking. UKR warned for finger grabbing. Kudukov single leg, flattens him out for 1. UKR with several shots but can't get a leg. Not surprisingly, Kudukov pushing the action for most of the round while UKR tries to stall him out.
period 2: UKR sloppy shot, Kudukov walks behind for 1 pt. UKR snap down, spins behind but Kudukov hangs onto a leg until they stalemate it, no point. Under review now, and point given. Kudukov trying everything to score now, UKR shoves him in the face, then keeps grabbing his head until time runs out. UKR wins 1-1.
period 3: Kudukov looks pissed. Both guys pretty physical. Both fighting hard for an opening, but the defense is just too good and we go to a clinch. URK wins the ball toss- finally!
Kudukov kicks right out, spins around into a high-crotch, and hikes Fedorishin right to his back! About the greatest wrestling move I've ever seen.

Kudukov with the world championship, and an early candidate for thewrestlingtalk.com oustanding wrestler. Meanwhile I need to go eat some crow... I clearly remember saying that all that stood between Fedoryshin and a world title was some luck on the ball draw.

Gheorghita is a good wrestler. I have watched some of his recent matches at tourneys and in the German league.
Lashgari is a strong, but not talented wrestler. He studies the moves of his main opponents in detail. He studied Gadisov's style of wrestling and what he learnt, he made it useful when wrestling him in Poland. I am sure he did the same with the styles of Aldatov, Ktsoev, Temrezov, Sokhiev etc. And I am also sure he could beat them. But he is helpless vs. a wrestler he doesn't know. He simply didn't know what to do, how to react when wrestling Gheorghita.
