    Default Wrestling Outside of College

Hi, my name's Jeffrey Hart and I was a junior high wrestler. I followed in my father's footsteps and did not wrestle in high school.

I spent two years of college in the Physician Assistant program and in favor of focusing my efforts on studying, I didn't wrestle in college either. I would like to get back into wrestling for the conditioning and discipline aspects and just because I never did all I wanted to do in the sport and wondered if wrestling--freestyle or Greco-Roman--existed outside of the college or high school arena. Where do Olympians train at? I take it that after your four years of college, unless you go to the Olympics or coach or find the odd open tournament, you're pretty much done.

I'm twenty-one and will probably go back to school at some point, but I wondered if there was anything to do in the meantime. I live in central Pennsylvania and the nearest good MMA gym is at least a two-hour drive away.

There should be a USA Wrestling state contact on their website. They may be able to point you in the right direction.

Scroll down on this site to the spot that says TWT services. Click on that and then click on wrestling clubs and then look under Pennsylvania.

Yes, there should be a USA Wrestling state contact on their website. To see what they are doing. And to let people know.

If you live in central PA and haven't wrestled since JH you should contact local hs's and clubs whom have open mats before looking to train with Olympic caliber men.
