Three current Hawkeyes (Gambrall, Moore, and Lofthouse) as well as Dziewa in the Finals. Nice!
Jacob Schlottke---Gone too soon, and the world is a little less bright because of it. RIP, brother.

    Finals Results

    50 KG
Nick Roberts def Andrew Brackins 0-7/fall 1:44

Brackins got a TD and then laced Roberts three times to win the first period, Roberts didn't resist the laces too much. Roberts came back in the second period with a TD and gut and then got the fall when he hit a high gut and held Brackins on his back.

    55 KG
Steven Keith def Anthony Zanetta 4-3/1-3/3-1

Keith got an exposure with a chest lock for two points early in the third period, that lead held up and wound up winning him the match.

    60 KG
Nick Dardanes def David Thorn 6-0/3-2

Dardanes got a couple of exposures from a front headlock position and then picked up a late TD for the tech in the first period. He got a TD and then went back to the front headlock to get his points in the third.

    63 KG
Nate Moore def Josh Dziewa 3-0/3-0

First period went to the ball draw, Moore won the clinch and then got a 3 pointer as Dziewa tried to roll him through. Second period Dziewa tried a horrible foot sweep, Moore just caught his leg and then Dziewa compounded his problem by trying to dive through the legs and wound up exposing himself for 3.

    66 KG
Danny Zilverberg def Andrew Alton 7-1/3-0

Alton got the first TD on a go behind, Zilverberg came back and got a single leg TD and then hit a trapped arm gut for three exposures and the tech. Second period went to the leg clinch, Zilverberg won the draw and took Alton to his back as Alton nearly got his foot down and away. Alton looked very sluggish in the second period.

    70 KG
Taylor Massa def RJ Pena 7-0/6-1

Massa got a TD off a throw by from an underhook early in the first and then much like Zilverberg in the previous match caught a trapped arm gut and got three quick exposures. Massa scored with a knee tap, high gut, push out and then a chest lock late. Dominating performance.

    74 KG
Ethan Lofthouse def Chris Spangler 1-1/3-0

Spangler scored early in the first with a push out, Lofthouse got a late go behind TD to win the period by virtue of last point scored. In the second Lofthouse got a TD with a misdirection single, hit a gut and then got a late TD with a little elbow pass where he just passed the arm and slipped behind without taking the shot.

    79 KG
Conrad Polz def PJ Tasser 2-1/1-2/4-0

Polz gave up a soft TD early on but then hit a dirty far side duck under and then scored with a single leg to win the period. Tasser got a funky exposure in the second period when he countered a Polz shot. Polz got a couple of TD's one with a high crotch and one with a go behind, then got a two point exposure countering a front headlock roll attempt to win the third. Polz looked big, much more so than he did during the season.

    84 KG
Lee Munster def Grant Gambrall 2-1/3-2

Gambrall got an easy TD after Munster took a horrible shot, but then Munster came back with a late push out and then did a great job scrambling away from a near TD as Gambrall came back and shot off the restart. Munster hit a late double leg for 3 in the third, two refs scored it as 3 for Munster one gave it 3 for Gambrall as he tried to roll Munster through but it was ruled that he stopped motion before hitting it.

    96 KG
Derrick Borlie def Joe Kennedy 2-0/1-0

Borlie got a couple of push outs to win the first period. He got a push out with eight seconds left to win the second period.

    120 KG
Steve Andrus def Jeremy Johnson 2-0/1-3/2-0

Andrus got a couple of push outs to win the first period. Johnson came back in the second period and got three push outs of his own (he was in on shots to his credit when he got his). Andrus got a push out early in the third and then as Johnson got in on a snatch single late in the match Andrus did a nice job stepping the edge and allowing Johnson's momentum to take him out of bounds. Andrus is a big heavyweight, he used his leverage very well.

Redshirted for the Gophers this year. Rumored to be the guy who will step in at 149 if Mason transfers.

Rough sequence for the Alton's as Kindig beat Dylan 6-0/2-0 in the consi semi's while Andrew was wrestling Zilverberg.
