Thread: Tournaments in Bulgaria

  1. #1

    Default Tournaments in Bulgaria

    FS Aug 3
    GR Aug 4
    FW Aug 5

The tournaments Dan Kolov (FS + FW since recently) and Nikola Petrov (GR) has been held for years in March/April and never in one in the same week. This is the first time they are put together and in August. The idea of the Bulgarian federation ? to make them more attractive for top-wrestlers by offering an event in world championships' format (all 3 styles together) short before the worlds.

In the GR tournament, Egypt and Iran are expected to have their Nos. 1 ? Gaber, Abdelfatah, Sorian, Ashkani etc. Also in the Russian team, there will be some members of the national team.

In the FS tournament, the national team of Kazakhstan is expected to participate. In the other teams, only some of the wrestlers are the first ranked in their countries, for example Bilyal Makhov of Russia.

It is funny that Nikolai Paslar, who only 2 months ago medaled at 84 kg at the Bulgarian nationals, is going to wrestle at 66 tomorrow.

Does Paslar fear losing to Ganev? Have they wrestled recently?

There are rumors that he fears losing to Ganev. They haven't wrestled each other for 2 years. Each time they wrestled, Paslar won but this was in the the time when Ganev was junior participating in senior nationals.
Maybe Paslar's fears were the reason why 2 months ago he made his come-back (after not wrestling more than a year) at 84 kg.
Recently Serafim Barzakov announced that he would take a year off. Now this must be the reason why Paslar will wrestle at 66.

I hope the federation will post them on its site.
The final match at 60 will be Murad Ramazanov (MKD) v Orazgaliyev (KAZ).

At 66 Paslar lost the semis to the Chechen guy Rasul Dzhukaev (this year 3rd at Yarygin and 5th at the Russian nationals) 0:2, 1:0, 0:1. Dzhukaev (RUS) will meet Leonid Spiridonov (KAZ) in the finals.

"Bulgarian" said the matches except for 2 or 3 were boring.

Sorry Quick, no good news at 60 but the second period in his second match seems to have been quite heated.

Yeah I wanted to see if my Albanian friend Sahit Prizreni wrestled. He did and lost to Shakupov of KAZ.

Not much happened at that tournament, aside from the fact that in an Ossetian match at 84 Gennadi Laliev got pinned.
