The King short story was much better than the movie, in spite of one of our own being in it!

Speaking of Stephen King-one Novella -different Seasons -had all 4 stories turned into movies -''Stand by Me''
'The Shawshank Redemption '' and ''Apt Pupil'' and one more -one novella -or group of Short stories and 4 mega million dollar movies .
I speak from experience when saying Shawshank is the more realistic of all prison movies ''Time to get busy living -or get busy Dying''

Brother Russ, totally agree with you about Different Seasons - Great stories, especially Rita Heyworth and the Shawshank Redemption (the full name of the story, remember the poster of Rita Heyworth on his wall that hid the hole he was digging?). I don't think the 4th story -Breathing Lessons I think was ever made into a movie. Great story though. Stephan King books were always my go to reading material at those loooong, boring training camps. I read Diff seasons at 84 Olympic Camp. Good memories.

Brething Lessons was with James Garner and ?? Apt Pupil was great-you don't wake some things up !! When Shawshank came out I looked at Morgan Freeman and said this is RED ?? a 5'4'' Irishman-just a great performance by everyone -Clancy Brown was great too.
King had just had his phone disconnected when he sold CARRIE-his mother had been doing with out food to help him - his is a great success story .
