Looks like Schwab is not ready to take on the world:
Crushed by the Cuban and needed three periods for his other two wins:
66 kg/145.5 lbs. ? Doug Schwab, Iowa City, Iowa (Gator WC) ? 3rd
WIN Cleopas Ncube (Canada) 3-2, 2-2, 1-0
LOSS Geandry Garzon (Cuba) 0-7, 2-3
WIN Ricardo Roberty (Venezuela) 4-3, 1-1, 1-0
I hope he will prove us wrong in Baku

Remember, Garzon is no slouch, he took the bronze in 06' worlds

Yeah, but he got dominated and did not dominate the Canadian and Venezuelan. Right now does not look like a serious medal threat.

I think this dude from Venezuela beat Bill Zadick recently at the other Pan Am thingie. What is the difference between the 2 Pan Am tourneys?

Re: Is Schwab ready for Worlds?
I might be wrong but the winners of these Pan Am Games might be automatic qualifiers for Olympics next year.

Re: Is Schwab ready for Worlds?
doubt it. It will most likely be next year's performance at the Pan Ams.

Re: Is Schwab ready for Worlds?
pan ams are no longer an olympic qualifier. now, to qualify, one must place top 8 in the prior year's worlds, or must place in one of the 2 "olympic qualifying tournaments."
