    Nyblom v. Karakus

1st Period: They're chanting Nyblom's name before he even comes out...30 seconds in and both guys shoving back and forth, doing a lot of tying up the hands...Karakus tries for a push out on the edge, but Nyblom circles back in, tries to just shove him out from the middle basically, but Nyblom is doing a nice job keeping to the middle...Nyblom tries an arm spin and its ruled a slip throw, 30 to go and Nyblom (blue) starts down...Karakus starting from regular parterre, trying to turn with a trapped arm gut...Nyblom steps over it and catches Karakus on his back for 2...and Nyblom wins the first 2-0 as the crowd goes crazy

2nd Period: Nyblom chant starts again...30 seconds in and again both guys going chest to chest fighting for position, not quite as much hand tying so far...1 minute in, 15 seconds to go before the clinch...and Karakus is going down...Nyblom is setting up in the reverse gut, and Karakus shoots out and false starts like crazy...we're going...10 seconds in, and Karakus still flat...Karakus does a nice job defending and wins the period 1-0...we're going to the 3rd.

3rd Period: Official getting after them at about the 20 second mark...looked like it was about the hand tying...25 seconds to go, and we may be headed to the ball grab, Karakus takes an attempt but Nyblom blocks him off...since Nyblom actually scored he gets to choose, and takes down...Karakus sets up trying to gut again...Karakus locks his hands...restarted with 9 seconds to go after going out of bounds...Nyblom doesn't give it up and wins the period and the match.

Nyblom is the first bronze medalist, 2-0/0-1/1-0

    Soryan v. Amoyan

1st Period: Armenian coming out pretty aggressive in the first ten seconds with his tie ups, but it doesn't pay off for him as Soryan takes him down for a 1-0 lead...Soryan gets a gut for 2 more...3-0 Soryan, going to the clinch now, Soryan will be on top since he scored...Soryan takes a standard start, got his gut locked up tight, and gets another turn for 2...Soryan takes the period 5-0.

2nd Period: Soryan looking for a front head, and then shoves Amoyan out towards the line but Amoyan does a nice job keeping within the circle...1 minute in and not much in the way of action from either guy...and we're going to the clinch. Soryan will be down...Amoyan starts with a standard gut as well...can't move Soryan at all, got him up for a second, but Soryan does a great job defending, and wins 1-0.

    Soryan wins gold 5-0/1-0

Well a good first day in Greco wrestling, but i'm very dissapointed that Bekhan Mankiev didn't medal. When I heard he got knocked off in the championship rounds, I'd figure he'd come back and get bronze at the least. He looked very good at Euros and Nats, so I figured he would do very good at Worlds; apparantly that didn't happen. Russia should have sent Nazir instead, but I think the coaches reported him having an injury awhile before. If Nazir didn't have his injury and if the coaches sent him instead(which they would have done), he would have won gold or at least make it to the finals. Nazir is way better than his brother.

Even though Bekhan got knocked out and I'm very dissapointed and mad, I'm very confident in our guys for tommorow. We got Albiev, Mishin, and Khustov going in. It would be nonsense for even one of them to not medal. Although I guess we'll see how things turn out tomorrow Hopefully they can all come out with the gold.

What a come back ! he completely disappeared after the olympics and I think he even planned to retire after that disappointment defeat. he wrestled very few matches this year (only Azovmash Cup)

Sourian totally dominated the competition, he lost only 1 period in his 4 years world championship career !

he is only 24 yo !
