    Default 2009 World Championships: 55/59/63 KG Women's

Padilla is in the top half of the bracket at 55. In getting put there she avoids the Japanese monster Yoshida as well as the Russian, Golts.

Rix is in the top half of the bracket, she has the Bulgarian in the first round.

Pirozhkova is down in the bottom half, she'll start things off with the Turk tomorrow.

Much like today, I will say again I don't know much about the women, but I will continue posting results tomorrow.

Elena is the first American to go today, she wins the first period by tech 6-0 with a 3 pointer, a 2 point turn, and then another TD.

Got taken down first in the second, but came back with a TD, a turn, and then another TD, before giving up a last second TD to still win the period 3-2 and take the match.

Rix wins the first period 4-0 with a TD and then a whip over for 3...she loses the ball grab in the second but comes back and scores to win the period and the match.

Tatianna is up soon, she has a 39 year old 4x former World Champion from Norway according to the guy from Norway sitting next to Joe. He and Joe have been kind of having fun jokingly talking trash back and forth to each other.

Padilla wins the first period 2-0 with a couple TD's out of her front headlock offense, and wins the second period 6-0 with more stuff out of her front headlock series and a two point turn.

The Norwegian that Tatianna was wrestling won her first World Championship the year before Tatianna was born.

Tatianna moves on to face Minguzzi from Italy who I assume is related some how to Italy's reigning 84 kilo Olympic champion last year in Greco.

Elena wins 0-7/1-0/fall over the Korean, and all three women are in the quarters.

Gave up a TD in the first and then got hit with two arm spins for the tech. Came back and got the TD in the second, and then got the fall after securing a late TD in the third.

Yoshida beasts the wrestler from France in two periods to move on to the quarters.
