    Modebadze v. Dlagnev

1st Period: Dlagnev in on a snatch single for the TD 15 seconds in...1-0 Dlagnev...stays on the leg and comes up to the feet with it and pushes Modebadze out for another point...2-0 Dlagnev, 40 seconds in...30 seconds to go...Dlagnev handfighting hard, Georgian isn't really looking particularly urgent right now. Period ends 2-0 Dlagnev.

2nd Period: Dlagnev in on a head inside single, picks the leg up and trips it down for the TD...1-0 Dlagnev...Dlagnev works for a low single 45 seconds in but Modebadze doesn't let him in...1 minute to go...snatch attempts by both guys...Modebadze in for a second, Dlagnev with a reshot low single for the TD...2-0 Dlagnev...30 seconds to go...Dlagnev wins.

    Dlagnev wins 2-0/2-0

At the risk of offending the owner again, I think USA is doing pretty well thus far. A Silver and Bronze through 6 weight classes, with this young team, seems very encouraging. I only see the US improving at 55 kg, 60 kg if Cejudo is returning and at 96 kg.
    Lets go Brent!

    Makhov v. Masoumi

1st Period: Both guys start off with a few low fakes...Makhov scores with a push out 15 seconds in...1-0 Makhov...Makhov with a second push out...50 seconds in, 2-0 Makhov...little head outside single attempt by Makhov...time runs out, Makhov wins the period 2-0.

2nd Period: Makhov just beasts Masoumi out of bounds 10 seconds into the period...1-0 Makhov...Makhov gets a body lock and bear hugs him down for 3 more points...4-0 Makhov...Masoumi almost gets a leg, but Makhov just shrugs him off and then pushes him out of bounds again...5-0 Makhov...Makhov in on a shot and gets another push out for the 1:22 tech fall.

    Makhov wins 2-0/6-0

We'll see what Varner can do when he reaches Herberts age. Keep in mind he's still a college junior and performing way beyond what most expected out of him.
I will keep that in mind. I do also have in my mind our debates over who is currently at a higher level. I think Herberts performance this week can put that argument to rest. I do hope that though varner can one day reach herberts success.

I agree completely. Hopefully by the time Varner reaches Herbert's age, he will have matched his accomplishments. At this point, I thinnk the USa is looking pretty good at both 84 and 96 kg.
    Lets go Brent!

I think he can, he just needs more time concentrating entirely of freestyle.
I am 49, bald, ugly, and don't own a single cool thing. Kids like me though.
