55 kg looks pretty weak; I'm suprised at all the love Lebendev is getting from predictors, didn't he lose early in the Grand Prix? I think Velikov wins the whole thing without being challanged too seriously.

Tough draw for Stadnik at 66. Garzon should be able to make the finals on his side, assuming me beats Batyrov first round. If he wrestled really well, Garcia (Canada) has a shot at the semifinals vs Stadnik or whoever beats him.

At 96 Gazumov (who lost to Muradov in a 3rd period coin toss last year and killed everyone else) should make the finals. The bottom bracket is definitely the loaded one, Gatsalov/Gogchelidze and Kurbanov/Ebrahami match up early.

55? weak?? I hope i'm just missing some internet sarcasm here cause it is STACKED! Nobody has an easy draw there.

Putting the Gogchelidze and Gatsalov, and Kurbanov/Ebrahami together early really opens up that weight...

    I'm getting excited!

It seems everyone has a case of if in doubt pick a Russian and atleast one token American.

I agree with qs Taghavi has an excellent chance this year.

Cp, "weak" is obviously a relative term. I'm comparing it to last year, which had 3 world champs (Kudukov, Velikov, Mansurov a 2x champ) in the bracket.

This year there is only 1 champ (Velikov). The Russian is unproven at the sr. level. Cejudo and Matasunga, last year's finalists, are not present either. To me, that's a comparatively weaker bracket.

the canadian at 66kg has no chance. he's not even in the top 10. Garzon is going to be exhausted if he makes it past Al Batyrov and the Azeri back to back. second round Stadnik/Taghavi should be a barn burner. i think stadnik out does him.

Any chance of Iranians and Israelis meeting up? Mark that as a forfeit for Iran if so.
