Success of the 1st World Beach Wrestling Championship
The 1st World Beach Wrestling Championship for men and women took place on 29 August 2009 in Obzor (BUL). 14 countries participated in this first edition that took place in this beautiful Black Sea resort. In female wrestling, the performance of the wrestlers from the Thi?s FILA traning centre must be noted with the gold medal in -70kg won by Isabelle Sambou and the gold medal in +70kg won by Annabel Laure Ali.**Regarding the male competition, the Bulgarian wrestlers dominated the Championship with Nicolay Stanchev winning the gold in -85kg and Dimitar Kumchev winning the gold in +85kg. Dimitar Kumchec beat in final the former freestyle World Champion, Eldar Kurtanidze from Georgia.**The results are available at the*following link.
