    Default Groundwork (videos)

    Hi guys,
I am a freestyle wrestler. I am trying to improve my groundwork, Have you guys got any videos of wrestlers who are really technicians on the ground or you can suggest wrestlers for me to check out.

I want to watch some videos to get some inspiration and if possible learn some good techniques.

Also if you guys got any good videos showing wrestlers with textbook groundwork defence that would be great aswell.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Boring and dated, the Scherr brothers have stuff from an old video of theirs that can be found on Youtube. When Bill was in the Northwestern room a few years back working with the Wildcat WC, he'd show us some of the groundwork stuff he covers in that vid which remains relevant and effective even today.

I posted some videos of Aldatov and Farniev that show a lot of scoring from the ground on the "good matches" thread, near the end.

No, not Turkish; must be Chechen. But he mixes with Russian. 1/4 of what he talks is in Russian.

freestyle bottom work? so simple; just lay flat and keep as wide as possible
"It ain't about how hard you hit, it is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving foward, how much you can take and keep moving foward. That's how winning is done!"

Its not that simple, there are lots of intricate parts to it like shifting your weight, posting, sitting back when your opponent drops for a leg lace, etc. If you just "lay flat" than your going to be tech'd or pinned in a hurry.
