    Default Job Opening at USAW

Maybe they should run that background check on their employees instead of the coaches....

The child was actually an undercover investigator with the Jefferson County Attorney's office.

He was arrested at the district attorney's office on Monday morning and was booked into the Jefferson County Detention Center.

Tell me about it, this morning, I woke up and I shit a squirrel, but what I can't get is the damn thing is still alive. So now, I've got a shit covered squirrel running around my office and I don't know what to name it.

Focus the blame where you may, but USAW did offer a quick statement about the situation. How could a background check have revealed something that happened within the last month?

Let's be realistic here ... I think it's in very poor taste to rake USAW over the coals for what is obviously a very bad situation all around. No defense to any of it, but since you raise the point ... what preventive action could have been made here? To my knowledge, said individual has worked there for over 10 years ...

What's the solution? What could have rectified a problem that existed on USAW's end?

    USA WRESTLING STATEMENT
    July 6, 2009

On Monday, July 6, USA Wrestling was notified by the Jefferson County District Attorney’s office that one of its employees, Mark A. Scott, had been arrested on suspicion of attempting to lure a child for sexual purposes over the internet and was in custody.

Mr. Scott, who is employed as the Director of State Services, has been relieved of all duties with USA Wrestling. All state service matters should be referred to the Manager of State Services.

USA Wrestling was shocked and disturbed about this situation. USA Wrestling has zero tolerance for this type of conduct. The organization will fully cooperate with the appropriate authorities. USA Wrestling will monitor the criminal proceedings and take appropriate action as necessary.

USA Wrestling has no further comment on this matter at this time.

They are currently deleting any mention of the incident from their message boards. Even when posted by such big time posters as Matt "The Law" Lindland.

Honestly this is going to get enough bad attention, and some of the posters on that board will be well... idiots. USAW did what they had to, they let him go and now they have to deal with the fallout from what he did since they employed him.

A background check would have found nothing unless he had been arrested previously for something along these lines.

Anybody get a glimpse of what the Lindland thread said? I saw it for about 2 seconds and then it was gone before I could get a look at it.

I didn't read his original thread, but he wrote a second thread, basically asking what the hell happened to his thread, saying it was a public story that was all over the newspapers, so it didn't make any sense to delete it.
