Round of 12
84 kg wtf
what the f happened? ketoev wins in the leg clinch people go nuts. it was tough to see because the feed kept breaking up but some guy ran out and kneed the ref after he raised ketoev's hand.

Re: 84 kg wtf
The fans are surely passionate. Reffing is a dangerous business.

Re: 84 kg wtf
I am not sure whether Sajid stepped out first or it was Ketoev who landed outside first. The tv showed that action from 3 different cameras but the different views didn't help much. IMHO Sajidov was the better wrestler in that match.

Final score?

Ketoev v Sajidov 1:1, 0:3 (from the clinch), 1:0 (from the clinch)

I think he kicked him when the referee was going to raise Ketoev's hand. The referee fell down and couldn't declare the winner. Soo there is no winner
Nobody knows what else happened after the broadcast got interrupted.

Re: 84 kg wtf
I am surprised Sajidov kept it so close. He is a master of low scoring matches.

Re: 84 kg wtf
The Russian site says supposedly many fans ran out on the mat and beat up the referees and destroyed the monitor and cameras. The police wasn't ready to stop them in time and only after a while was the mat cleared. Medal presentations were postponed until tomorrow. Unreal!

Re: 84 kg wtf
I think much more unreal is what they report (or better to say: what they don't report!) in the last sentences. They write that after the police had cleared the mat and the area around the referees' table, referees and officials from the federation reviewed many times the video of the action from the clinch. Then they write ?The review didn't take any effect: Both sides remained firm in their views. Ultimately, the score has been upheld.?
The usual Russian style of writing any info! Nebulous and ambiguous. Who were the two conflicting sides? Were there 2 parties among the referees/officials who reviewed the tape? And what actually does mean ?the review didn't take any effect??
This situation reminds me of what happened 5 years ago in the 84 kg final Saitiev v Gatsalov ? the same controversial decision, the same behavior around the mat, scandals, long discussions, postponement of the awarding ceremony..... And then ? the great solution: both wrestlers were awarded gold medals. I wouldn't wonder, if tomorrow there will be 2 champs at 84.

Nobody landed on this page from a search engine, yet!
