Are interval sprints better before or after a weightlifting workout?

i feel that its harder to concentrate during lifts if you've gone thru an intense tabata sprint workout. if youre in season i wouldnt force fitting both of them in on the same day, since practice/matches/tournaments on there own are draining enough. however, if i had to, i would do sprints after and space them out by several hours even. that is just from personal experience and what my body reacts well to

Do them after for sure. Just a 10-15 minute sprint session can be 10x exhausting as a 2 hour intense weightlifting workout.

A handy rule of thumb is that if you are training speed or agility, you should do so prior to a strength workout, as the neuromuscular system needs to be at its freshest and least-fatigued in order to respond to that type of training. Speed and agility training should not make you fatigued either, so it makes sense to do it prior. HOWEVER, for the type of workout you are talking about - which is CONDITIONING - you are correct in doing so after lifting weights. The body responds to conditioning regardless of its prior state (unlike speed and agility training), so you can and should always condition post-workout.
