    Default Wrestling Workouts?

    I'm sure I'm the 1518464651^10 to ask this question, but what is the best workout for a wrestler, pre-season. I'm currently doing a mass and strength workout (just started) 3 days a week, but don't feel this will prepare me at all for wrestling. I wrestled for a little bit last year but quit due to recovering from H1N1 and Pneumonia and just couldn't handle the cardio (asthma attack in the middle of my FIRST ever match... yeah, not good). So, I need to workout A LOT on the cardio point, especially since the season is just around the corner now.

    Are there any good pre-made wrestling workouts out there, or should I just do what I know(got a pretty good idea of what I'm doing in the gym)- making high reps for muscular endurance and adding in lots of cardio? I would also like to gain some strength while I'm at it, however.

    burpees, run for distance, sprints, hard airdyne bike for an entire match.. these have all helped my guys tremendously

    you had really stressed cardio in you intial post, sounds like you have a good handle on the strength training. I would try and incorporate rope climbs, pull ups, time under tension (planks, farmers carry, static squats), lifting odd objects (rocks, tires, logs), medicine ball smashes, sledge hammer smashes, and plyometrics all help to develop that "cave man" strength. check out the workout logs. i am an avid kettlebell lifter. jensen does crossfit. greco is doing p90x.. consistancy is the key..

    Thank you. I will try and incorporate some those things, along with tire flips into my routines. I would do CrossFit, but my gym doesn't have a lot of the things for it.
