    Default Starting Wrestling at 30

    Greetings,

I began doing kickboxing and jiu jitsu while living overseas several years ago. Subsequently, I moved to a small college town with no outlets for those interests.

The uni wrestling team has graciously agreed to let me workout with them. While I have grappling experience, I have no folk/uni-style wrestling experience.

I would be glad for any and all advice you more experienced hands could offer. I would ask specific questions, but am frankly beginning from so far in the dark I wouldn't even know what to ask.

    Thanks in advance.

Mostly Work on Basic Takedowns Escapes And Pins

Lets Say Double Legs Single Legs and High Crotch Sprawls

    Then Grambys and basic escapes

And Halfs Cradles 3/4 half Get a Good Cross face and Arm bars not jiu jitsu Arm bars either
Mental toughness is to physical as four is to one.

good luck!! never too late too start. you will learn a ton in the uni room. a simple offensive set up, double leg takedown, sprawl, pinning combo/defense and a stand up are what we teach all of the newbies. then drill, drill, drill.

Yeah, I understand "guillotine" means different things as well.

Gonna have to reset my whole brain.

Looking forward to the challenge, though. Thanks for the help.

Worked on proper stance. Worked on doubles and sprawls. Practiced circling on the outside, shooting and sprawling. no work from the tie-up.
My mind has changed my body's frame. but god i like it.
My heart's aflame! My body's strained, but god i like it.

Worked on re-shots. Worked some from the tie-up: arm drags, ankle picks, etc.
