Manhattan NYC, people don't even know what hit them
Manhattan is a place where the majority of people live in tiny apartments with 2 or 3 roommates that they are forced to have. There is one kitchen and one bathroom for all the inhabitants in an apartment.
This is called an ideal situation for many.
Well, my grandmother was receiving a pension in Leningrad in Soviet Union and she lived right in the center of the city in a big room that is the size of a whole apartment in Manhattan. This room was one of many rooms in her apartment with one kitchen and one bathroom. How many poor, old ladies get to live in a big room right in the center of Manhattan?
You see, before critiquing Soviet Union Americans should have looked at Manhattan.
I'm reminded of the movie Ninotchka (1939?) where the Russians are depicted as having to travel through one apartment to get to their own. The rooms were big, however. It's actually a very funny movie (Billy Wilder) in spite of the anti-Soviet propaganda element.

My grandmother had a totally separate room. There was a long hallway and there were entrances to the rooms like in a college dorm.
Yeah, but their women still stunk and had rotten teeth.
I didn't know that the City of New York was holding guns to people's heads forcing them to live together, even if they didn't want to. That is information you need!

Exactly!! The reality is you can do whatever you want! So, get off the hypothetical sutff and don't get upset when people live how they want.
In skipster's world, nobody gives up nothin' (not even the time of day) unless it's for money or someone is holding a gun to your head.
Your government and your media criticized Soviet Union for the same things that happen in Manhattan.
