As we may recall, Rick Secession Perry endorsed this idea for his state of Texas after Obama's first win.
Bill Maher once asked Perry, "what's next? Slavery?"
And, as long as we're talking crazy stuff that happens when a black guy wins an election, here's yet another (I'm up to almost two pages of just links to such stories since 2008).
Anti-Obama post spreads across Net | McClatchy
From the Yahoo article:
"quotes a University of Louisville political science professor who explained that these petitions aren't uncommon. Similar petitions were filed following the 2004 and 2008 elections. Still, should the petitions garner 25,000 signatures in a month, they will require an official response from the Obama administration."
They make reference to 2004 petitions, but NOT A WORD about Lawrence O'Donnell calling for the NE Atlantic Coast states and all of the Pacific Coast states to succeed. He said it on NATIONAL television (MSNBC), but no one ever says a word about it. O'Donnell promptly disappeared for a while, but has, apparently, been rehabilitated.
All states had the right to secede until the civil war when the North realized they;d starve to death w/o the south . I'm pretty sure Lincoln was white tho. Also, states right were shot down yet again when Kennedy sent in the troops on wallace.
As i understand the Texas part , Texas was it's own republic and put in a loop hole where if they joined the union they could bolt at will.Texas had it's own currency and separate flag .
As I thought would be the case, the "Tea Party" is back in full force, once the election was "ceded." ;)
A LOT of out of staters signing our Iowa petition, as well! Nice to see that they understand law!
