Maybe we should pull out and let the place completely go to hell.

Then take a few years regroup and rebuild our army.

By this time, the civilized countries of the world would have seen enough atrocities in Iraq that they all will be willing to work together to bring stability in the mid east.

This is what we should have done in the first place.

Bush rushed in like a cowboy without the proper back up and international support.

Although this doesn't excuse the extremist that are drilling holes in peoples heads and blowing up mosques and markets full of innocent people.

There is never going to be any excuse for the extremists. Our mistake was believing that there were enough "non-extremists" in the region willing to take on leadership roles, and exert a peaceful influence.

I still see only two options for us now. (1) is get out quickly, and watch the country disintegrate into hell on earth, or (2) follow the More Rubble, Less Trouble credo, which means that we would re-engage with overwhelming force, killing as many radicals as possible in mass quantities.

Neither option is a very good one, so we're in bad shape right now.
