That one trip may be a minor cost if it only happens once, but if they cut 10 of those "cheap" trips a year for four years you would save 16-25 million dollars.
It is a distraction because when we are talking about the Federalbidget one or even 40 trips over four years does not amount to a drop in the bucket. If he were to take those 40 less trips and save that hypothetical $25 million that we amount to about $.02 of savings for every American.
My figure of .0000001% was an actual calcuation using 0,000 per one trip and a federal budget of trillion.
I am OK with trying to cut excessive government spending, but we should focus on the waste that is costing us billions not tens of thousands.
