    Default Health Care Speech

Well after listening to the whole speech I had some impressions

On the surface some of the stuff I liked. I liked all of the stuff that he said when concerned folks who had insurance. I would support this bill if these things are true.

    What I liked

Insurance companies can not reject people for pre-existing conditions, they also can not drop you once you get sick. I really like this.

    No cap on coverage.

    Limit out of pocket expense

Insurance companies required to cover Dr. visits for preventative care.

Insurance exchange. Good idea for people to have the same leverage as large companies. I like this a lot.

Tax credits for companies and individuals purchasing insurance.

Required everyone to get and pay for health care unless they can not then there is a hardship exemption

No government money would go toward abortions

    What I did not like

No real effort is being made for TORT reform

Government option instead of opening interstate insurance purchase ability.

    What I dont buy

That it will be deficit and budget neutral, I just dont buy it.

Illegals wont be covered, I dont buy it.

I dont buy that there will not be a single payer system.

I also dont think these measures will bring down the cost of health care that much if at all. With insurance companies covering rikier patients we would see an increase in premiums at first.

If they implemented what I like I dont see what cost the government incurs. All they are doing is reforming the health insurance companies. Add to that TORT reform in buying insurance across state lines, why do we need government health care.

Very sad to see the President heckled by Congressman Joe Wilson, a Republican from South Carolina, who shouted "You lie" when President Obama tried to straighten out misconceptions about illegal aliens qualifying for health care coverage under his proposal. To his credit, the Congressman issued a statement of apology.

Obama handled it with class...something most white southern republicans lack.

At least he didn't yell what he really wanted to yell out.

Medicare? VA? What kind of an American are you?

I suspect you would pull the plug on Granny and let the vets waste away on the streets of America.

Anyone surprised by this? He must have thought he was at one of those town "hell" meetings as republicans have been instructed to make them like.

    Stay classy GOP.

It's written right into the proposed bill: page 143 of HR 3200 "Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States." from factcheck

I guess I should say I dont think it will happen that way. If they dont cove them in the bill we still have to pay for them in the ER. That almost seems worse, he is mandating that legal citizens have insurance so we can get away from high medical cost but illegal aliens will still abuse the system.

If an illegal alien has a job he should get health care under this plan, because employers will be mandated to offer it to them. If they pay for there insurance I dont care if it covers them, I just dont want to see them getting a free ride.

I personally did not care, if you have ever watched the British Parliment go at the Prime Minister you would see that we are minor in comparison. The President deserves no more respect than anyone else when he is in with the Congress.

I didn't know anti-American repubs like you even knew how to spell respect. I'm impressed. You're a pretty smart youngster.
