Older sister lived in SoCal (Long Beach) back in the 80s, had a brief relationship (very brief) with a player that netted me a California Angels hat. I was like five or six at the time ... just became something I could root for.

Conicidentally, my older sister is 18 years older than I am.

It's random, but you know the old stompin' grounds lack professional sports, so you pick up teams where you can, for odd reasons.
