Title IX turns 35 this week and it is good to see how effective it has been for all the other countries that participate in the olympics. losing sports like wrestling, mens track, mens gymnastics, and others has only diminished the talent that we have been able to send to theese games and this has been a sad thing to watch.
Re: Happy Birthday
My wife's high school gym was condemned as unsafe. The district built a brand-new, state-of-the-art (for the day) gym. They then gave the new gym to the guys, while the girls were given the old gym, with NO MODIFICATIONS! The girls used a condemned building. At my high school, the baseball diamond was a manicured gem of a field. The softball field was all dirt, including the outfield. It also lacked bleachers, dugouts, fences, and water.

I have a lot of problems with Title IX interpretation - but the need was there, and the concept is valid.
