    NEW YORK (June 7) - Jim McKay, the venerable and eloquent sportscaster thrust into the role of telling Americans about the tragedy at the 1972 Munich Olympics, has died. He was 86.

    McKay always magnified the event not like some of the pompous personalities that try to usurp the reason why they are working.

    He was a great guy. I enjoyed his work for many years!
