Almost 40 miles...I can count on usually about an hour or so commute. I've gotten use to it so it now big deal. At some point I heard that its healthy to have at least a 20 minute commute home so you can clear your head after work.
Mine is 40 miles each way.
About 45 minutes on a good day. Up to an hour and a half if someone is changing a tire on the side of the road and everyone has to slow down to look.
Sorry, I didn't mean to imply I live in NYC. I live in central Denver. But I guess to New Yorkers, "the city" means THE city. If I had such a choice (could afford to live in NYC) I would probably do just what you're doing, including finding a good workout facility close by.
About 1.5 hours for me. Its only about 15-20 miles but I have to drive to the ferry (45 minutes by the time I park and get through traffic), the ferry is about 30 minutes, and then a 10 minute walk in the city.
Sometimes I work in NJ and its 25 miles but it takes about 40 minutes to get there.
Do you really have to commute to your job as professional messageboard poster?
