R.I.P. Cyrano and Roxanne.
We have three pets. Two cats and a dog. My wife took in a stray cat about fifteen years ago and our dog and new cat were adopted at the ARL. We don't know what breeds are in our dog. When she was young she looked like the labs that were in here kennel with her and that's what the ARL said she was. We took her into a private room to play with her and she pee'd all over us. We knew we couldnt leave without her after that. Plus I thought I could take her pheasant hunting. A couple of days later we took her to the vet to have her looked over. The vet said there was probably very little lab in her and said she was probably a mix of whippet, doberman and something else that I can no longer remember. I was a little disappointed that I wouldnt be able to hunt with her at first but now I could care less. She's my first dog and the sweetest dog I could ever imagine. She's completely spoiled but very affectionate and very easy going. Fast as hell too. She's always the fastest dog at the dog park. She's a complete sprinter. Never does more than two or three sprints before she becomes bored with it. Her temperment is that of a greyhound. We've looked into the greyhound adoption place in just outside of Des Moines but decided against it until we get a bigger place to live. But we will surely be doing it at some point down the road. I don't hunt that much anymore anyway.
