Haha!! You should visit Brown County Ohio sometime. Specifically Ripley and Higginsport, it will be a culture shock to a Frisco guy. Actually, most of the schools in that area don't have a football or wrestling team. I was told by someone who graduated from one of the HS in the county that it was because of the tobacco harvest. But they do have soccer and basketball during that time, so I don't really know the reason. But it is definitely hillbilly. Although Georgetown and Mt. Orab are fairly "normal".

No, you can't shock me. Remember, I grew up in a small town (8,000 people) in western PA, so I know rural. I spent the first 20 years of my life in that area until I moved to a suburb of Pittsburgh.
Outside of some hickiness, the biggest difference I see between small town midwest and big coastal cities is the women. Hot, hot women in and around San Francisco, no question. I haven't publicized this on TWT, but I just recently separated after 14 years of marriage, and it's pretty tough with young kids. But the talent out here is unbelievable - went on my first date in 15 years last night with arguably the most attractive woman I have ever dated. Great personality too - just a sick pool of talent here. The Nuts are back in the game.

Sorry to hear of your separation. I can only imagine how difficult that would be.
I lived in Felton, CA for a short time in the mid 80's, which was an hour and a half south of SF.
UNI Panthers...Because it's just right.

Hmm...for some reason I thought you were originally from the Cleveland area. Sorry to hear about your separation. Had to be pretty weird to go on a date after 15yrs on the sidelines. I don't think I could handle a big city like San Fransisco, but at least it does provide you with a lot of "talent" (as you put it) to choose from. Good luck.

Thanks. I'm making light of it but there's nothing funny about it. Sometimes you just reach the point where you realize it's better to make a major change and try for the best rather than continue to wallow through with anger and everything else, with no hope for change. Every day that goes by I feel a bit better about the decision.
So anyway, that's enough seriousness from Flop The Nuts, bring on the dancers.

Actually pulling a quote myself within a quote deal for the first time and it feels good.
There is one other major difference between here and the midwest which I just remembered when I looked at a temperature map. It's hotter than Chewbacca's nutsack in most parts of the country right now but it's about 75 to 85 out here with a nice cool breeze.

Flop - sorry to hear of your marital difficulties. Once you have made that kind of investment in a relationship, it is difficult to break it up.
Aside from that - STOP TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT OUR WEATHER! It's too damn crowded here already. (Dispensation if you can get quality high school wrestlers to move here.)

R.I.P. Cyrano and Roxanne.

You know, I think I would rather be a man than a god . We don't need anyone to believe in us. We just keep going anyhow. It's what we do.
