Blogger or wordpress?

Since we may be moving and I may be trying to start a new wrestling program in an area with no wrestling whatsoever I am thinking about starting a blog (yes I know very original) to chronicle the events. I'm looking for peoples opinions on which route to take. Should I purchase a domain name or go with blogger/wordpress? If I go with a domain name how difficult is it to get a website up and running? I'm fairly adept when it comes to computers but I'm not interested in learning to write code or program. If I end up going with a site like blogger or wordpress which one would you recommend?

I'd love any and all advice that people who have set up webpages or blogs may have.

Yeah I've looked at that a little. Maybe I didn't look close enough but I'm not sure that I can edit my blog here enough. I'd like to be able to change the layout and make it a little more original. Include different pages for schedules, photos, and other stuff.
