Wow! That song sucks. I don't even remember it and I love GNR. I will say this though, I went to the Motley Crue/Poison concert last night and those guys still rock.

Ugly based on some of the bands you mentioned (old crow, mumford and sons) I think you'd really like the Avett Brothers.

I'm a music nerd so constantly searching for/downloading new music, but here's a sample of some well-known favorites (best album(s) included)...

Miles Davis (Bitches Brew or Kind of Blue)
    Charles Mingus (Mingus Ah Um)
    Bob Dylan (Blonde on Blonde)
The Beatles (Rubber Soul or Revolver, but consider 50% of White Album a masterpiece and almost 50% garbage)
    Velvet Underground (White Light/White Heat)
Rolling Stones (Exile on Main St)
    Frank Zappa (Hot Rats)
    Funkadelic (Maggot Brain)
    David Bowie (Low)
    Talking Heads (Remain in Light)
Glenn Gould (Bach's Goldberg Variations 1981 recording)
A Tribe Called Quest (Midnight Marauders)
Wu-Tang Clan (Enter the Wu-Tang and GZA's Liquid Swords)
    OutKast (ATLiens)
Radiohead (Kid A or OK Computer)
    DJ Shadow (Endtroducing..)
    Amon Tobin (Bricolage)
Also, anything by Staind, POD, Evanescence (just kidding)

What about Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jennings?

VA I will check the Avett Brothers out, if they are half as good as OCMS and Mumford and Sons I am sure to like them.

Quinn, I am a fan of some of their songs and their work with the highwaymen but they're not my favorite, they would fall into the second tier for me.
