    Default Pro Bowl Rosters/Discussion

These things never are infallible but I always enjoy looking at them especially this year, and especially again with the guys on the defensive sides of the ball.

    NFC
QB: Kurt Warner, Drew Brees, Eli Manning
HB: Adrian Peterson, Michael Turner, Clinton Portis
    FB: Mike Sellers
WR: Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, Steve Smith, Roddy White
    TE: Jason Witten, Chris Cooley
T: Jordan Gross, Walter Jones, Chris Samuels
G: Steve Hutchinson, Chris Snee, Leonard Davis
    C: Andre Gurode, Shaun O'Hara
DE: Julius Peppers, Justin Tuck, Jared Allen
DT: Kevin Williams, Jay Ratliff, Pat Williams
OLB: DeMarcus Ware, Lance Briggs, Derrick Brooks
    ILB: Patrick Willis, Jon Beason
CB: Charles Woodson, Antoine Winfield, Asante Samuel
    FS: Nick Collins, Brian Dawkins
    SS: Adrian Wilson
    K: John Carney
    P: Jeff Feagles
    KR: Clifton Smith
    ST: Sean Morey

    AFC
QB: Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Jay Cutler
HB: Thomas Jones, Chris Johnson, Ronnie Brown
    FB: Le'Ron McClain
WR: Andre Johnson, Brandon Marshall, Reggie Wayne, Wes Welker
    TE: Tony Gonzalez
T: Joe Thomas, Jason Peters, Michael Roos
G: Alan Faneca, Kris Dielman, Brian Waters
    C: Kevin Mawae, Nick Mangold
DE: Mario Williams, Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis
DT: Albert Haynesworth, Kris Jenkins, Shaun Rogers
OLB: James Harrison, Joey Porter, Terrell Suggs
    ILB: Ray Lewis, James Farrior
CB: Nnamdi Asomugha, Cortland Finnegan, Darrelle Revis
    FS: Ed Reed
    SS: Troy Polamalu, Chris Hope
    K: Stephen Gostkowski
    P: Shane Lechler
    KR: Leon Washington
    ST: Brandon Ayanbadejo

I'm really interested to watch who winds up taking home Defensive Player of the Year this year.

The AFC has two former winners with three awards between them on their roster in the Baltimore boys. They've also got Haynesworth who's been fantastic for the second year in a row, and Jenkins who has turned the Jets Run-D around in a major way. Then Harrison and Polamalu have both had fantastic years, and former Steeler Joey Porter has turned things around since he got moved back to the right side.

Then the NFC has three absolutely fantastic D-Ends in Peppers, Tuck and Allen, and they have the guy who's probably the "front runner" to win the award in DeMarcus Ware since he's the league's sack leader

Props to Sean Morey - Special Teams All-Pro

I loved him when he played for the Steelers.

Also, a Brown University grad. Future coach someday ???????

If I had my druthers, DPOY would go to Haynesworth or Polamalu.

    K: John Carney

The only reason he got to play was because of the injury to Tynes. The karma's in his favor this year.
Life's not the breaths you take, the breathing in and out that gets you through the day ain't what it's all about. It's the moments that take your breath away.

I like the call of Haynesworth, that guy is an absolute animal. He probably won't win though.

Last two DT's to win were Sapp and Stubblefield and both of those guys had 15 sacks the year they won.

Haynesworth "only" has 8.5 this year, and according to the page below he won't get anymore as he'll be sitting the final two games out with a sprained MCL.

I know, I know. The sack is the "celebri-stat". It's more flash then substance, IMO. Haynesworth and Polamalu change a game.

Polamalu had some problems the last two years with coming running in on plays at a million miles an hour and either overrunning them or bouncing off guys because he didn't wrap up.

I don't know if that was part of his not being healthy the last two years, but he's definitely back to playing at the unreal form he was at in the playoffs during the Super Bowl run.

I think he's got a better shot at it than Haynesworth given that Reed, and Bob Sanders have taken home two of the last four DPOY's. They obviously don't hesitate in giving it to DB's.
