Christmas song
I couldn't find the questions thread to put this on, so I just started a new one.
Two questions:
1. What is your favorite Christmas song?
2. Which artist does your favorite version of it?
Mine is Little Drummer Boy by Bob Seger.

Re: Christmas song
Just off the top of my head, I like Bruce Springsteen's version of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town." I also like Madonna's remake of "Santa Baby" and Lady Antebellum's version of "Let It Snow."
"Love never dies." The Beatles

Re: Christmas song
In The Bleak Midwinter. Not sure which version is my favorite. It's typically a choral piece so that is my preference. James Taylor has a version but it's just alright(like most of his music)

I was just going to post that as my favorite. Springsteen isn't my favorite artist by any means, but that's a great version of the song.

Re: Christmas song
Don't really care which Christmas song it is, as long as it is performed by my favorite masked men, Los Straitjackets.
They have an entire album of Christmas songs, done just like this.
UNI Panthers...Because it's just right.

Wow, I can't decide whether I think more or less of you because of that.
If we're moving into the "mask or other article of concealment on the head" category then I'd like to nominate Buckethead. I'm sure he has a Christmas song in his repertoire somewhere.

Re: Christmas song
Ban's post reminded me of another great musical Christmas album. It is called Ho, Ho, Hoey. It is by guitarist Gary Hoey. Very, very good if you like rock style guitarists. I'm not sure whether he wears a mask or not, though. lol

I thought the song was cool when I mised heard it 20 years ago, now it is on way too much during Christmas.
My favoites are:
"Gloria In Excelsis Deo" for traidtional
"Holly Jolly Christmas" for modern. I don't lnow why but something about the line "I don't know if there be snow, but have a cup cheer" really makes me feel in the "spirit"
I also like John Lennon's "So this is Christmas"
How about the worst Christmas songs. My wife has a Chipmunks Christmas CD that she and the kids love and i hear all the time during December and it is beyond annoying. The chipmunks thing is cute the first time you hear it and loses its appeal rapidly.
Finally, Band Aid's "Do they know its Chrstmas?" is not a good song but has the inadvertantly funny line:
Well tonight thank God it's them instead of you
