Miguel Cairo is on the roster.
Molina and Ankiel are on fire. Edmonds has quietly returned to hitting form. Another come from behind victory.
Can a patchwork team pull off the improbable?

No, they can't. The Mets had one viable postseason-proved pitcher last year, and they still went to 7 games. The Mets are the pick.

Juan isn't only done for the season, he might lose the sight in his left eye. It might be a career ender.

Ha. Well, I wasn't even thinking that far ahead. Just looking to win the division and then take it from there.
I met a Cubs fan on a mountain summit yesterday, and he confessed they will blow it. But then there are the Brewers.

Yeah, hope it isn't that bad. But it doesn't sound good when your eye socket is shattered.

That's sad, even to this Cubs fan. And they will NOT blow it (I say as I went through a whole roll of Tums this weekend, between Mizzou football and Cubs baseball.)

Re: Cardinal (St. Louis) fans
What a terrible ending to a season. Everyone's hurt. The team is falling apart.
Everyone's talking about whether LaRussa will be back. I know he wants to stay with Dunc, who apparently has another year on his contract. If LaRussa leaves, I don't know if he's have to get another pitching coach or if there's someway Duncan can go with him.
Otherwise, I think he's ready to leave. This is merely speculation on my part but, in his shoes, I think I would be a little upset that the team made little effort to get or keep quality starting pitching this year. On that note, it wouldn't bother me if Jockety left.
