Dirty play or just old fashioned hard nosed football?
Hines Ward has been fined for hits in his last two games.
Neither hit was flagged as a penalty.
Will he get another fine for this one?

Different angle.
Rivers (who is out for the rest of the season with a broken jaw) was pursuing the ball carrier and was close to making the tackle.
If this hits takes place on the other side of the field, away from the ball, then I'd call it a dirty hit.

Completely clean. Head was around, and Rivers was near the ball.
Clean hit. Even if it was on the other side of the field. Rule on the field is always protect yourself.

One, two, Evans is coming for you...
Nothing wrong with that play, no mattter where it takes place. This is Professional American style NFL football guys, not syncronized skating.
Lets go Brent!
Me and the Ball Coach, riding together on this issue. I've been meaning to ask you, Coach, but I know you're a new fan of football, and you root for the Chargers of San Diego. However, I know you have also professed admiration for the talent level on the Cowboys of Dallas, although you are not yourself a fan, and had thought them the best team in the NFL at the beginning of the season. What do you think now?

Thank you Zapp, it is always my pleasure to engage in discussion with you. As to your question, the Dallas Cowboys are a magnificent team, really the model of what all professional sports franchises should strive to be like, in my opinion. They are loaded with talent top to bottom and the management is comitted to winning no doubt.
Unfortunately for Cowboys fans, they are simply stricken with far too many injuries at key positions, to be considered a factor at this time. They showed what they could do when they ran it up on Philly earlier in the season, to the tune of a 41 point explosion. I'll tell you this, once they get healthy, they will be a load for anyone.
Right now my beloved Chargers are fighting for their lives in the tough AFC West but with some good fortune and some improved play, we could be in the big game, come January.
Lets go Brent!
