I need some advice

I was falsely imprisoned 4 years ago-I am dealing with that as best I can-however Social Security is with holding money from my dis-ability check because of this incident -I cannot get anyone in the DOC to admit I was ever incarcerated so how can SS with hold money for an event that they say never happened ?
I have been to the ACLU/ICLU and they told me to get in line because Marion county falsely imprisons more people then any other place in America .
I am out of ideas and open to suggestions -I cannot buy a job since the one felony I have is considered violent-intimidation-I told the cop to take his hands off me or I would break his arm .
I am currently living on 0.00 a month plus food stamps . Strangely I am as happy as I have ever been -I could definitely use the 147 dollars a month they are with holding though .

If you were incarcerated or not should be part of public records.

By writing the DOC emails and letters formally asking for those records you should be able to attain them. Another alternative to get the records from the DOC is to file to receive those records under the Freedom of Information Act.

I am not familiar with Social Security regulations in this area. However, I am aware that many governmental agencies can withhold cash benefits, tax refunds etc. to recover costs from things like incarceration, fines, judgments, child support etc.

Therein lies the rub-the DOC is not acknowledging my existence -I have bombarded them with e-mails and actually had a few responses but no one will admit I was there -there-being WCC-a doc facility-they will not even send me the money I had on my commissary acct. ., also while there I received no state pay -so I was just lost in the system-ok-that sucks -but to make me financially responsable for it as well is driving me crazy -and that ain't that far a trip .

Not sure if you have something similar, but Maryland has most court records available on-line. There are a couple of counties that don't participate for some reason, but you might have something similar where you are?

Send a notarized, registered letter to the DOC using the Freedom of Information Act.

I think cc is right - the starting point is the FIA to get the basic documentation started. From there, try a law school. Many have clinics that are available to get legal advice.

Advice in this situation for me is out of my league, but I, for one, am sorry to hear about all of this.

I am a regular advocate of fair treatment for those falsely imprisoned and you sound like yet another victim.

Online they have me incarcerated from march to January-i was there from September to December -the lady at the DOC said they throw al files that old away and i said Bullshit so she read the stuff off and said s
ince I was released on appeal I would have to go through the courts and the courts are the ones who sent me to the DOC-

M Richardson is correct... look into a local/ state University, such as the University of Indiana - http://www.law.indiana.edu/students/clinic/index.shtml. They have clinics where students work on cases under a supervising attorney. I think that would be a great start... also, take a look at Indiana Legal Services - http://www.indianajustice.org/Home/PublicWeb/Library.
