Is Torres still a top 5 pound for pound fighter?
I thought the Roller stoppage was too quick. He got rocked and then recovered quickly and was covering up well when the ref jumped in.
I think the WEC fights are better than the free cards from the UFC.
I hope they don't switch to pay per view, which I have heard rumors of happening.

I personally never had Torres in my top p4p but I dont think this fight negatively affected him. Mizugaki is a very good fighter in his own right. Torres has good striking and an excellent ground game his problem is that he does not have the wrestling to dictate where the fight goes if he needs to. The striking was pretty even and went back and forth and Torrest had a huge advantage on the ground but he could not get it there.
Thats why I have GSP and Fedor ahead of Silva. Both are good strikers but if they need to get it to the ground against a better striker they can do so. There are clear matchups that are bad for Silva, a guy with pretty good takedowns and an excellent ground game can pose serious threats to silva. Lutter had him mounted, and Henderson was controll him the first round.
I didnt see a pick em thread for the fights, so I decided to watch Wrestlemania instead.
Hendo only "controlled" Anderson in the sense that he was on top. After the TD, Hendo did nothing, and was stuck in Silva's guard (or halfguard, I forget which position they ended up in). Hendo won the round because he got the TD, but he didn't do anything with it. Lutter did well against him early (as Lutter is wont to do), but this was also soon after knee surgery on both knees.

He didnt do much damage but he clearly won the round. It was clear going in that Silva wanted it on the feet and Henderson wanted it on the ground. Henderson was in no danger in the ground. I think someone with more submission skills than Henderson would be a threat to Silva as its hard to ground out a five round win over a dangerous striker.

Up to this point Silva has faced Franklin, Marquardt, Henderson, Irvin, Leben, and Lutter. Marquadt and Franklin are good on the ground but prefer striking. Lutter is probably the best bjj guy and he was able to mount Silva but had no gas tank.
I want to see Silva face a world class ground guy.
I agree 100% with Peej. Silva has always been uber-talented, but he's not as well-rounded as guys like GSP or Fedor. Also, he's due for a turd performance. They should bring in Chonan or Takase to break the Spider's spirit.
I heart Jazzy B. White.
1) Yes, Torres is still top 4 P4P. In fact, putting up a clear win over another top 5 opponent only helps to solidify his status. It's amazing how versatile and dominant Torres is. The best part about his game IMO is still his grappling and submission ability. Yet in his last two fights, he's beaten strikers at their own game.
2) I was fine with the Roller stoppage. Maybe a tad early, but he wasn't intelligently defending himself to the point that I'd call it anything close to a robbery. As Mir pointed out on the broadcast, his arms were just hanging there in the air, flailing as he was taking shots, he appeared unable to grasp his hands together around Henderson's back, which led to the stoppage.
