So what's the verdict on Cote?
Is his knee injured, or did he decide to lay down in the 3rd round, after feeling Silva's power, during the series of knees at the end of the second round?

lay down.
I read somewhere that he went on vacation after the fight, then was going to prepare for surgery on his leg. if I was that hurt Id wanna get it fixed right away.

What's with these Canadians that don't want to fight? I thought Starnes was the only one but Cote did a good follow up to his act by laying down and closing his eyes so the ref would stop the fight.

He definitely did not lay down. He is getting pretty major surgery and will be out 6-8 months.
It is not abnormal to wait a week after the injury to have surgery.

He hasn't been waiting a week, he's been waiting a while now, according to his post fight interview. He said it is an old injury. But waiting a week and going on vacation after a fight ending injury are totally different. If he were laying on his couch, waiting for his surgery date, I could understand. traveling the world while he has us believe he's too injured to stand up, that's another story.

You are right he did not hurt his knee in the fight and does not need surgery.
